Preventing H1N1 is Simpler Than You Think
The H1N1 influenza virus isn’t like any other flu strain we have seen in recent years. What is commonly referred to as the Swine Flu is causing widespread illness across America. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states this is an unprecedented flu season, and as a result of this new strain, people are dying in record numbers. According to the CDC, the H1N1 has killed approximately 86 children this season and a majority of those young victims were teenagers between the ages of 12 to 17. These are sobering statistics which doctors believe are expected to increase as the season continues.
H1N1 hit my household this year, and fortunately it did not devastate it. This past summer, two of my three teenage sons developed an outrageously high fever and sore throat following a cruise vacation to the Caribbean. When rushed to the nearest emergency room, the medical staff tested my teens for H1N1, and the tests came back positive. They were immediately treated with TAMIFLU (Oseltamivir Phosphate), the number one prescribed antiviral flu medication on the market today. Although I remember it being expensive, even with medical insurance, it seemed to prevent the virus from spreading throughout my sons’ weak bodies.
The amazing thing is that my middle son, Matt, and I never contracted the H1N1 virus. I was relieved and astounded at the same time. Being the family’s primary caregiver, I was directly exposed to the virus the entire time my sons were ill. So what did Matt and I do differently? We drank juice! However, we didn’t drink just any juice.
LeVive, an organic nutritional supplement from Ardyss International, contains the world’s top five antioxidant producing fruits: Acai Berry, Goji, Mangosteen, Noni and Pomegranate. These fruits are blended into the delicious juice that is chock full of antioxidants and vitamins. explains that: “Antioxidants are substances that slow or prevent the oxidation process from damaging the body’s cells. They also repair cell damage, and may improve immune system functioning and lower the risk of infection and cancer.”
While researchers still study the extraordinary benefits of antioxidants, I can attest to the fact that LeVive worked for me and my son. How do I know? A month before the cruise vacation, Matt and I started drinking LeVive. I’m convinced that consuming the recommended dosage of four ounces a day strengthened our immune system and gave our bodies the ability to ward off the highly contagious H1N1 virus.
Wouldn’t you agree that taking preventative measures today to ward off that wicked virus is much better than treating it later?
Grandma always told me that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Preventative measures include proper hand-washing, coughing into your sleeve, staying home with a fever and getting the H1N1 flu shot, and I would like to contribute one more: drink plenty of LeVive juice! It may help you and your children remain healthy during this record-breaking flu season.
