Must Try Ways to Fall Asleep More Easily
How many things in this world are more annoying than those restless nights where you simply can’t fall asleep, no matter how hard you try? I’ve faced plenty of those nights and I dread the feeling.
There’s nothing worse than seeing it turn light out when you have to be up the next morning and you haven’t yet fallen asleep. You already know that the day that lies ahead is virtually ruined, and each additional minute of sleeplessness will only add to the problem.
How do you get around this? There’s so much advice out there, but none of it seems to work. What can you do to fix this dilemma?
One way, and this is one that I wouldn’t normally advise, is to take a medication. If you must, you can do this, but if your problems are occasional ones, I generally prefer to avoid medications unless they’re absolutely necessary. Still, products like Simply Sleep do work.
A second thing that you could do is to read in bed. I see this as a win-win situation in my mind. First of all, I’ll generally get tired and my eyes will become heavy when I’m reading at night.
You’ll even find that it’s easier to fall asleep when you’re reading something boring. The more boring the book, the better. And should I happen to stay awake somehow, at least I’ve been productive with my time as I’ve learned something!
The key to the reading technique is the fact that your mind will be focused on the book, and not the fact that you can’t fall asleep. This leads directly into my last piece of advice.
Do whatever you can not to think about the fact that you can’t fall asleep. The more your mind is fixated on this simple thing, the more trouble you’re likely to run into. Weird how that works, but it’s absolutely true.
